The advent of the internet and mobile technology has changed museums’ relationships with their patrons. Once understood as hallowed repositories of high culture, museums now experiment with interactive exhibits, online access to their collections, and patron-curated exhibitions. In the age of Google, what is the role of the museum? We’ll examine museums’ historical roots, conduct site visits to cutting-edge museums, and do some digital curation of our own.
