Guest lecture: Dr. Porchia A. Moore
Dr. Moore is Department Head and Assistant Professor of Museum Studies at the University of Florida in the School of Art + Art History. She is a Critical Race Scholar interrogating the role and function of race in museums and the cultural heritage sector. She is Critical Race Futurist for The Incluseum, A Project Advisor for MASS Action (Museums as Site for Social Action) and the co-creator of The Visitors of Color Project. Dr. Moore speaks internationally on issues of racial equity in museums. She writes frequently on the intersections of race, technology, and inclusion in museums. Her most recent publications include chapters in Editor Richard Sandell’s, “Museum Activism” published December 2019 and forthcoming chapters in several book and journal publications.Dr. Moore is Department Head and Assistant Professor of Museum Studies at the University of Florida in the School of Art + Art History.
