My Website

Check out my website here!

I seem to be having issues with the background image showing up though. Above is what the website should look like. It works perfectly fine when I open up the html file on a browser, but once I load it on my local web server the background image does not show up. I think it may be an issue with the path but I’m not quite sure how to fix it. Any help would be appreciated!

  1. What a fun website concept! I’ve never personally tried calligraphy, but it’s good to know that there are affordable ways to get started and practice. I also appreciated how the colors you chose blend nicely together with the background image and the image in Japan! As far as the issue with the background image, it might have something to do with the way the image file is being loaded. Some of my images were originally being processed as .JPG and not .jpg, which apparently made them not appear when uploading them to my server. It’s worth a shot to try!

  2. Hi! I love how you use your website as a platform to showcase your interest. I think you did an amazing job presenting yourself on the website and the Instagram link was very helpful for people to view your artworks. I really enjoyed it!

  3. I always really like this assignment because I get to learn about my students’ interests! Did you know Joanna Chen Cham, one of the librarians who’s been helping us out, loves handlettering, too? Sometimes she organizes events about it at Powell Library.

I investigated your background image issue a little bit, and when I use the Inspect Element tool in Chrome, I can see that your background image is supposed to be in a folder called “img” within your Public HTML main file on your server. But when I go to that URL, I don’t see the image. So I think there are two possibilities. One is that your image link is a little bit off. The second possibility, if that turns out not to be the case, could be that your group’s WordPress install is conflicting with your image link. That happens sometimes.

In any case, congrats on a great job!
