I enjoyed working with and experimenting with the application OpenRefine and learning about a new application with which to organize the data that my project group would be working with.
Working with the cylinder project, the dataset includes an enormous amount of cylinder recordings which would be difficult to work with if dealt with without organization. The interest in the project would be increased with the use of OpenRefine as we would be able to work with the datasets more efficiently. Also, our ability to organize the data through an effective data visualization would be made easier through the use of OpenRefine.
The application was also relatively straightforward to use, and the tutorial helped greatly in understanding the basics of OpenRefine. I am interested in exploring this application further so that I can manipulate it in new ways to best present what we learn about the cylinders.
