using open refine would help so much with my data set of my groups project because we have a ton of pictures from the carnegie art museum. we would be able to separate the picture using the year they were created, this would help give some context into the things socially and politically that were going on in that time period that influenced the image. we could also cluster the images together that were taken by the same photographer, so that they would all be in the same place and you would be able to start to put together his story a little bit by looking at the growth through the pictures.
to be able to begin to clean and sort through my data set you would need to use the facets and cluster/merge together the photographers with the same names and look to edit any simple upper/lower case changes. then you would be able to edit some of the columns so that you could easily sort through the more important information with the columns. i would like to be able to see most of the clusters once i start to group them into broader terms and that was they could have sub clusters within the same generic topic.
