Submit an annotated bibliography of primary and secondary sources you plan to use in your final paper. There is no minimum number of sources, since some people will read a few sources very closely while others will survey a wider range of texts. However, you should be sure that you cover key works related to your argument, and that you use your scholarly judgment to ensure that the literature you draw on is timely, relevant, and selected with care. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Selected with care” means that rather than using the first source you encounter, you check footnotes, citations, and other literature to be sure that you’re referencing the most important, provocative, or relevant works related to your topic, and that you’re not omitting key figures or debates. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

For each source, write a few sentences<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. summarizing the work (briefly!)<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. explaining how the work fits into the argument you’re developing<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n
