I don’t really know the cause of this, but I am slightly interested in incoperating this into my research. I have a theory that because of technology, and its partner like quailites, that we has a culture have in someways lost the need for a partner like figure. We are able to do more things on our own, which has caused like a major disconnect in many relationships, both friendly and romantic. Because of this I think it is assumed that our sexuality has entered like a new realm, and as a culture we don’t really know how to address it. Women have become extremely sexualized in popular media. I dont know exactly how to relate my theory to other concepts, nor is it fully thought through. But sex, and datign culture have definitely evolved in the past 40 years, and I do not think we has humans have quite adapted to these shifts.

We’re becoming desensitized to controversial images in film and TV. Also heartbreaking events of violence, murder, death, war on the news becomes repetitive and less powerful… even though its awful!!! Anyway.

Similar habits are seen on Tinder in my research. You message someone, text them, add them on instagram and or facebook… stalk eachother.. do some homework to make sure they are legit and not weird. Our eye for imperfection online is getting stronger which leads to more judgement but also a safer place to “meet” new people. In this way the internet is a tool, which is all it should be.
