Thu, 29 Jan 2015 20:24:56 +0000http://miriamposner.com/dh150w15/?p=533#comment-143It’s interesting that Kim chose to name her selfie book “Selfish”- it definitely connects to a lot of the discussion we had on Tuesday about how people who take selfies are inevitably construed as conceited, vain and oblivious to cultural norms of decent self respect. I have learnt, though, that there is a huge difference between being selfish and self-centered, and that there’s nothing wrong with the latter. Oftentimes people confuse the two and that’s when it gets offensive. Honestly though, I don’t think it’s selfish to take a selfie- it’s honestly not too different from looking at yourself in the mirror.
