I foolishly made it a size or two too large, and while that wouldn&#8217;t normally be such a big deal for a wrap dress, this one has pleats in the bodice, and they just don&#8217;t sit properly at this size. I think it would be a nice dress if I&#8217;d just sized down a bit. It&#8217;s a mystery.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/sewing.patternreview.com\/Patterns\/93765\">Named Ruska<\/a> (from <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.namedclothing.com\/shop\/breaking-the-pattern-a-modern-way-to-sew\/\">Breaking the Pattern<\/a><\/em>) is a cool dress, just not on me. It came out looking boxy and droopy. Maybe it would look better in something like linen?  I think, though, that I need something with better waist definition. I&#8217;d thought that was what the waist tie was for, but it&#8217;s not meant to really cinch in at the waist; just sort of provide decoration. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"675\" height=\"1024\" src=\"http:\/\/miriamposner.com\/classes\/sewing\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/11\/2019\/04\/IMG_5766-675x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-215\" srcset=\"http:\/\/miriamposner.com\/classes\/sewing\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/11\/2019\/04\/IMG_5766-675x1024.jpg 675w, http:\/\/miriamposner.com\/classes\/sewing\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/11\/2019\/04\/IMG_5766-198x300.jpg 198w, http:\/\/miriamposner.com\/classes\/sewing\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/11\/2019\/04\/IMG_5766-768x1164.jpg 768w, http:\/\/miriamposner.com\/classes\/sewing\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/11\/2019\/04\/IMG_5766.jpg 992w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 675px) 100vw, 675px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>This also just feels too short to wear without tights, and I&#8217;m afraid I&#8217;d look like a bee if I did. Not a bad dress, just not for me.  I&#8217;m planning to send it to a friend who says she&#8217;d wear it.
