The work that I found to be captivating, and which I explored extensively, is “<\/span>John Ashbery’s Nest<\/a>.”\u00a0The project virtually presents to the viewer the “Hudson House,” the home of American poet John Ashbery. <\/span>Upon clicking the link to the site the viewer is immediately transported into the home through\u00a0<\/span>the front doors and is directed to the Center Hall of the House, where he or she can explore the artifacts carefully chosen by Mr. Ashbery.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

It is an interactive experience that requires the viewer to click on items, where one can see a close-up image of the item and hear recordings of John Ashbery, and to virtually move around the Hall in order to experience the entirety of the room. The viewer can also explore the rest of the site and learn about the project, watch videos, and explore interactive graphs that explain the history of the House, the life of John Ashbery, and the artifacts within in the House.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"The\u00a0<\/span>sources\u00a0<\/span>this project required, based on my understanding of the word “sources” [primary data], include the home of John Ashbery, the numerous historical documents (architectural documents) that explain the history of the House, the artifacts located within the House, the recordings (interviews, poetry readings), the photographs (360\u00b0 Virtual Images, Historical Documents, Mr. Ashbery’s personal photographs, artifacts), and his writings.<\/span><\/p>\n

The processing involved in the project includes the\u00a0360\u00b0 imaging of Mr. Ashbery’s home, the compiling of visual data: photographs of historical and architectural documents, and the subsequent digitization (scanning) of all of the data aforementioned.<\/p>\n

The presentation begins with the virtual interactivity of Mr. Ashbery’s home. All of the processed data leads the viewer to be transported to the Center Hall of the Hudson House where he or she can explore the various artifacts within the House. After the viewer explores the Center Hall in its totality he or she can then proceed to discover more about the House by clicking on one of the various tabs that link to webpages that explain in further detail through historical documents, timelines, text, or a combination thereof.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
