Hello bloggers! How was your week?<\/p>\n

This week I read The Martians Claim Canada<\/a> written by Margaret Atwood. This Short story can be found on the website Granta<\/a>. This story is about Mushroom Martians that accidentally\u00a0lands in Canada on their way to New York to see a theatre production. Because these Mushrooms can communicate with other mushrooms they ask a mushroom where they have ended up and ask for directions, and the mushroom answers and tell them about the history of the land and gives information about the civilization. This story ends with the Mushrooms claiming Canada as their own so they can make and show their own musical theatre, Canada the Musical.<\/p>\n

Google Fusion Tables was not that hard to use once you made the tables right. The graph shown below, that I made was pretty simple, but it explains who met each other. Since most of the story was the three Martians and the mushroom talking with each other, the graph explains this well. The graph is not directed because one person cannot meet one person without the other meeting them.<\/p>\n

The limitations of this graph would be if it showed something different that who met who, and if it needed to be directed. There also were not that many characters in this story, so the graph is relatively simple. However, I am sure that once one is more familiar with Google Fusion Tables this is probably possible to do, or edit it in other ways. The graph also does not show for example how strong the relationships are and how long the dialogues between the different characters were.<\/p>\n
