How might you manipulate the data to be more useful in answering your research questions? What OpenRefine operations will you need to perform in order to do so? What would you like to be able to do to your data that you\u2019re not sure how to do?<\/em><\/p>\n<p>After using OpenRefine I have realized that data files could be broken down and its information can be taken and sorted using applications such as OpenRefine. The data on these files can be sorted into different categories that will save you time. One example in my file is the dates of events. Our group took all the years listed, sorted the information and tried to connect the years with the popularity of science fiction based on the attendance reported. Location was also something we cleaned up using facet. With the location of the events and the number of people attending the various locations we found geographically where in the United States these events were mainly taking place. This information allows to make assumptions about people regarding their interest in science fiction at the time.
