In order to manipulate the data to be more useful in answering research question is by putting it into categories. It would be nice to find out the time and place of when these photos were taken as well. If we have multiple categories that are the same, we can combine them together so it cleans up the data more. That will allow us to see our data better and pin point what we want to talk about and see. This will clear things up and if we want to look at gender within the photos, it will be a lot easier this way. In addition, we will need to go to the vessel type, click on one of the same categories, edit, then type in the same name and it will emerge them. On the other hand, we can merge the selected cluster under the cluster button. Also, in OpenRefine, we can add a prefix to a certain category as well. This will help organize the data and make things easier to find as well. What I would like to do to my data would be to understand what time the photo was taken. I would also like to know in which states these conventions were held and what ratio of men and women were there. This was the first time I used OpenRefine and I think it will be really helpful for this project. It really helps organize the data and makes it easier to understand.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
The dataset my group is doing metadata from photos at science fiction conventions.
