For your annotated bibliography, you\u2019re responsible for finding, citing, and annotating sources relevant to your group\u2019s research questions. (See this template.<\/a>) Your bibliography should contain a total of journal articles\u00a0equal to the number of your group\u2019s members times three. (So if your group has five members, you need 15 sources; if six, 18, and so on.) A book counts for three journal articles, but remember: we want you to actually\u00a0read<\/em> these sources, and we\u2019ll be checking your annotated bibliography accordingly.<\/p>\n The sources contained in your group\u2019s project brief are \u201cciteable,\u201d meaning they count for your annotated bibliography, as long as you read and annotate\u00a0them.<\/p>\n Depending on the kind of project you\u2019re doing, you might operate with different standards for what constitutes an \u201cacceptable source.\u201d For\u00a0this<\/em>project, I want to challenge you to adhere to this definition of an acceptable secondary source:<\/p>\n The sources contained in your annotated bibliography must be published\u00a0in peer-reviewed journals or\u00a0books from a major or university press.<\/em><\/p>\n This doesn\u2019t mean that other sources, like newspaper articles and websites aren\u2019t useful; just that I want you to dig into the scholarly literature for this particular project.<\/p>\n If you\u2019re not sure whether a journal is peer-reviewed, you can ask. But in general, anything indexed in Academic Search Complete<\/a> will qualify. If you\u2019re having trouble figuring out how to find these sources, good news! There\u2019s plenty of help available. Please see your group\u2019s project brief for information on how to contact a librarian.
