On Friday, September 30, Francesca will give you instructions for obtaining a login for our class blog.<\/p>\n

Log in<\/h3>\n

Check your email to find your username and temporary password. Click on the link to log in. Once you\u2019re logged in, you should see your dashboard \u2014 the back end of our course site.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Start a post<\/h3>\n

To begin a post click on New<\/strong> (at the top of the page) and then Post<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Begin composing your post.<\/h3>\n

You can begin writing your post much the way you would write a Word document. Because you\u2019re composing on the Internet, you should save frequently<\/strong> so that your work doesn\u2019t get lost if you lose your Internet connection.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Add an image (1)<\/h3>\n

You can add an image to your post by clicking on Add Media<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Upload an image by dragging onto the pop-up window. In the next window, you can change some settings until the image is the size and location that you prefer. You can also add a caption and \u201cAlt Text,\u201d where you can describe your image for the site-impaired. When you\u2019re satisfied, click on Insert into post<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Add a link<\/h3>\n

To add a link to your post, highlight the words that you\u2019d like to serve as links. Then click on the link<\/strong> icon in the text-editor. In the pop-up box that appears, enter the URL (the address) of the page you\u2019d like to link to.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Hit Publish.<\/h3>\n
