(Each lab section will have a different set of terms.) You will need<br \/>\nto answer two. The terms that appear in brackets will be drawn from our list of key<br \/>\nterms and specified on the final exam.<\/p>\n<p>I will not try to trick you or throw you any curveballs. If I ask question one, for example,<br \/>\nI will not choose two wildly unrelated terms. Similarly, I will not expect you to discuss<br \/>\nauthors, terms, or ideas we haven\u2019t discussed in class.<\/p>\n<p>In your answers, I will look for:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Thoroughness. You do not leave out important facets of a term\u2019s meaning or<br \/>\nuse. You\u2019ve done the reading and paid attention in class.<\/li>\n<li>Thoughtfulness. You\u2019ve spent time with the readings and key terms and thought<br \/>\nabout our discussions. You don\u2019t parrot back exactly what I\u2019ve said or<br \/>\nmemorized a reading, but show that you\u2019ve analyzed and formed opinions about<br \/>\nthese ideas.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to make connections. You\u2019ve thought about readings, terms, and<br \/>\ndiscussions independently, but you\u2019ve also given some thought to how one idea<br \/>\nrelates to another and can identify points of similarity or contrast.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>I am always happy to meet with you one-on-one to go over anything you\u2019re confused<br \/>\nabout or need extra time to work through.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Please explain how [key term x] is related to [key term y], referring to specific<br \/>\nauthors and arguments.<\/li>\n<li>Please define [key term x] and explain how it figures in to a digital humanities<br \/>\nproject we\u2019ve examined.<\/li>\n<li>If you had to suggest a key term to contribute to our list, what would it be and<br \/>\nwhy? Please be sure to explain how your suggestion relates to the other terms<br \/>\non our list and how your key term fits into our class readings and discussions.<\/li>\n<li>For a given digital humanities project, explain which sources it uses, how those<br \/>\nsources have been processed, and how they have been presented.<\/li>\n<li>Select a primary source \u2014 an advertisement, a book, a movie, etc. \u2014 that you<br \/>\nthink best exemplifies [key term x] and explain why you\u2019ve chosen it, referring to<br \/>\nspecific authors and arguments from our readings and discussions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Three of the following questions will appear on your final exam, to be held in lab on Friday, December 2.
